Odinani is not a religion even though its been categorized as religion, it is not. Odinani is tradition. Odinani is in our human Dna, Deoxyribonucleic acid; the physical, the internal and spiritual energies, pattern of life and existence within and outside you - the human beings as a proof; the forces that binds all together for our own good and comfort.
Human DNA works together with the elemental forces because in us exist the water, the heat, the air - if our breath leaves the body we die and the lifeless body returns to the Earth - Ajaana nwe mmadu.
In Igbo Cosmology we believe that everyone on earth has a purpose of living, Our task or responsibility is to discover the purpose and fulfill it before our life on earth ends. It is discovered through a special kind of divination Afa Agu which I can help you with.
There’s no cult in this world greater than the cult of those who has identified with their Chi - personal guide and their creator Chukwu Okike Abiama. These people took a bold step and broke away from religious dogmas because they discovered who they truly are and the power within them as priests and priestesses of Olisa Olisa Bulu Uwa. These are indigo people who are intellectually intelligent, critical thinkers, they are spiritual noble men and women, priest and priestesses of the Almighty One. They are the enlightened souls by grace; the light of the world, those who are totally free from religious dogma and its manipulations. They are curious souls who are seekers of the greater light and truth.
As we play the music of life and dance in rhythm with divine purpose.. The enlightened ones strives to abide by the Traditional Laws of Odinani. They never speak blasphemy against the Almighty Creator and Mother Earth. Everything in between is often open for debate. Deep inside the religious people, they know that it’s impossible to win a soul that has discovered their original light, power and purpose on earth as ordained by their creator. But they are so very scared of going to hell-fire when they die.
People of God listen up, there are things which are Ancient in Days. When you go to Church you sing: Ancient of days of all that you are you remain the same etc. Have you actually sat down and used your medulla to think and ask yourself what exactly are these things which are Ancient in Day? Or do you sit down and visualize God as one old white man with long white beard living outside of you?
See everything and everyone are a part of Chukwu Okike Abiama - God the creator. Here is the Eziokwu Ife - The Physical Truth that started it all. It is not a theory or a story but it is Odinani which is in our dna, recognizing the things you are made of and living according to the ways of our great noble ancestors is the right way of life. Anyone who doesn't agree with these truth is regarded as an Ofeke Mmuo - a prodigal child.
The Elements:
In creation and Igbo cosmology we have the pantheon of Gods and Goddesses who governs forces of this earth. These forces are those ones we can't live without. Humanity would be erased without these forces which are Water - Mmiri, Air - Ikuku, Fire - Oku, Earth - Ani and the fifth one is Sand - Ajana, All these elements have polarities which are Light and darkness. Sun and Moon. Fire and Water. Heaven and Earth. Father and Mother. Love and Hate, Like and Dislike etc.
These elements are so powerful to the extent that without one of them there wont be life on earth as we know it. Although we don't know exactly how the earth was formed but as an Igbo woman I would like to believe that all the above mentioned forces came together on one fine day and had a meeting and decided that they want human begins as you and I to exist among them and they brought together a piece each of them and made man through procreation - conception and delivery known today as Biology.
As human beings with sound mind it’s allowed to think deep and reason around these concept. Its not a blasphemy and you are not going to hell for thinking and using your medulla. Think critically, don’t just read one book then fold your hands and listen to your pastors preach balderdash.
Chukwu is a collective deities who works time together for the greater good of mankind. Without one the other can not function on its own. As goes on I will teach about the Elemental Correspondence to Chukwu - God Force. The Gods and Goddesses, The Sixteen Commandment of Odinani - Traditional Laws of Ordinani Igbo and so on. For now you can go on Google and do a simple research about things I have mentioned, read books and broaden your mind.
Know that everything on earth and beyond and in-between should be learned and understood to the best of our knowledge for it is our responsibility because these are the things which keeps us a-life everyday. Everything about the concept of God - Chukwu should be dissected, learned and discussed. It’s not a blasphemy to use your brains and you are not going to hell because you simply want to understand the Big Bang Theory.
